MY STORY
From Caracas to Couture
My journey began in Venezuela, where I spent afternoons learning jewelry making and selling my creations in my parents shop. My family, originally from Peru, migrated to find new opportunities abroad. Which gave me and my brothers plenty of opportunities to see the world.
Years later. I became deeply aware of the environment impact or single use plastics and the healthcare inequities: affecting communities around the world. I transform "waste" to fund my dreams.
I wondered:
What if plastic waste could become something beautiful and fund healthcare initiatives?
Since 2018, I have been upcycling discarded plastic straws into flowers.

OUR PROCESS
HOW A STRAW BECOMES A FLOWER
COLLECT
Used plastic straws are collected from local businesses.
CLEAN
Straws are washed, sanitized, and sorted with care.
CUT
Each straw is cut horizontally or diagonally.
SHAPE
Each bit is carefully placed in a form of a flower.
FUSE
Assembled flowers are then fused with heat and solidified.
ASSEMBLE
Finished flowers become wearable statement pieces.
Every Alinéa flower is handmade from materials that would otherwise be discarded.
ONE STRAW CAN BECOME UP TO SIX FLOWERS.

MORE THAN FASHION
Alinéa was never created to be another jewelry or clothing brand. It was created to challenge how we think about waste, value, and impact.

The big dream.
My dream is to travel the world teaching communities how to transform waste into opportunity.
Through workshops, education, and creative
entrepreneurship, Alinea aims to empower women with skills that can generate income while reducing environmental waste.
I believe waste with a little bit of creativity can create value. Enough value to fund important healthcare initiatives needed to keep our community healthy.
